Astrology, an Introduction

Most of us know our sun sign, but there is so much more to it. In Astrology, there are 12 signs, one for each month, 3 for each season.

What many people that are not familiar with astrology may not realize, is that each sign has a "quality" or "modality." This is due to where the sign is within a season. Furthermore, each sign has an element of Fire, Earth, Air or Water, which will affect how we approach life.

The wheel starts with Aries (beginning of Spring) and ends with Pisces (end of Winter).

Each season has 3 modalities: cardinal signs (beginning of season), fixed signs (middle of season) and mutable signs (end of season).

Cardinal signs as the new season begins, these signs initiate and lead, as the new season is the start of something new. These signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.

Fixed signs are in the middle of a season. They are rooted and bring stability. These signs are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius.

Mutable signs are the signs that mark the end of each season. They are flexible, as they understand the natural cycles of life and the need for transformation. These signs include Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.

Each sign also has an element, which is either Fire, Earth, Water or Air.

Fire signs are fiery, passionate, and like to initiate to get things done. They can be bold, and also impatient and impulsive. These signs are Aries, Leo and Sagittarius.

Earth signs are practical, grounded, material oriented, resourceful and methodical. They can be consistent, but also resistant to change. They include Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn.

Water signs have emotional intelligence, intuition, and are sensitive, nurturing and creative. They run deep, but can take things too personally and be too sensitive. These include Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.

Air signs are intellectual, communicative, quick witted, social and logical. They can also be less practical and have anxiety due to overthinking. These signs include Libra, Aquarius and Gemini.

To better understand how the combinations of position and elements can affect each sign, the following is a quick rundown of the combination of each sign:

Aries - Cardinal and Fire

Taurus - Fixed and Earth

Gemini - Mutable and Air

Cancer - Cardinal and Water

Leo - Fixed and Fire

Virgo - Mutable and Earth

Libra - Cardinal and Air

Scorpio - Fixed and Water

Sagittarius - Mutable and Fire

Capricorn - Cardinal and Earth

Aquarius - Fixed and Air

Pisces - Mutable and Water

Is There a Pattern to Your Pain?

Have you ever noticed that you are re-living some of the same scenarios, getting hurt and disappointed over and over again?

As in the movie Groundhog Day, it is because it is something we still haven't learned. Somehow though, your best friend or family member is going through the same exact situation, and doesn't feel affected in the least! This is because we all have triggers due to our psychology, how we are designed, and our experiences. The problem is that it may keep happening until we can grow past it.

If you think ignoring the lessons is going to make it go away, then visualize what it’s like burning your hand on the stove. Saying "I'm fine" doesn't make it go away. You get burned and the scar is there. We have to treat our heart as we would our body - with care, so it can heal.

By keeping a journal (or using the notes app on your phone) and documenting your most hurtful experiences, you can get an overview of the patterns that keep coming up.

Then you can ask "What are the themes behind the things that have hurt me and disappointed me the most?" Is it feeling left out, not being supported? I know for me, it has been worrying too much what other people think. I had to be tested enough times tto stop focusing on other people, and courageously live authentically as who I am.

Once we see the patterns, and have insight, the healing has the opportunity to begin. This process can be difficult and ego busting, but creates a lot of growth and peace of mind.

So where are you hurting the most?

And what can you change within yourself to stop the pain?

Please watch the video and pass it on if you think someone you care about needs to see it. Sending you love, healing and the path to authenticity.

Protect Yourself by Detaching.

The Detachment Theory teaches us how to emotionally distance ourselves from situations that trigger us. By allowing ourselves to observe what's happening without internalizing it, we become free.

As a human race, we are designed to need others in our lives to survive and be connected. However, when the ones we need the most do not protect us, and instead consistently hurt us, we need to take our power back.

By using the Detachment Theory, we distance ourselves enough to see the situation as outside of ourselves. We stop owning it. We protect ourselves emotionally. We refuse to take other people's bad behavior personally. We no longer feel that it is our responsibility to correct (including coming back with the "perfect response”).

We may have been conditioned to see ourselves as weak for not coming in for the kill, but choosing ourselves and our inner peace is our power.

When we are not afraid to reclaim our Spiritual Sovereignty, we are reminded that we are here to live out our divine purpose, always loving and respecting ourselves. We can, and many times need to, create healthy distance between ourselves and others while still being able to care about them.

Give the video a listen, and see if this helps you. And please pass it on if you think someone you know, and care about, needs to see this. Sending you love, healing and the path to authenticity.
