Listening to our bodies.

How can we remain in our body, and feel all the nuances that keep us alive, by using our intuition and instinct? We do this by staying in our body, and not letting our mind take over.

The mind has its place, but the instinct we feel in our body keeps us alive. It keeps us in the flow of who we are, with the knowledge we can handle situations as they come. It gives us confidence, since we are not overthinking or hesitating at every turn.

When we become disconnected from ourselves and our bodies, we don’t sense our numbness. The mind can control us, strategizing, planning and taking over as it likes to do. That is when we lose our intuition and stop listening to the cues life gives us. When our mind is in overdrive, we get defensive, rationalize behaviors and plan our “next move,” always striving to win.

If we are taught by others to not speak out for fear of negative consequences, we may experience a freeze response in our body. We shut down, and allow our mind to tell us to numb out.

Although the mind has its place in planning, it shouldn’t take over our intuition or natural emotions. The freeze response prevents us from reacting appropriately, and later on, we experience regrets and think that we didn’t act authentically.

When our energy is flowing properly, there are many benefits. We sleep better because our minds are not racing int he middle of the night, and we are not overwhelmed or triggered. According to Louise Hay, digestion problems can arise from us not taking life in and processing it properly. The body needs to be connected to all aspects of our lives.

Moving our bodies around helps, because it activates stagnant energy. During the day when you feel overwhelmed from overthinking, just get up and move around. Mantras to meditate with could be, “I am trusting and staying in my body”, “I am listening to my intuition, remaining in the flow,” “I am being real and honest with myself,” and “I am not letting my mind play tricks on me.”

I hope this message brings you flow, focus and freedom to be you.
